Chapter 1145 You Have Not Disappointed Me

"But you needn't worry. Warren is looking after him. Normally, nothing really happens.”

Alec didn’t know who he was comforting—Jenny or himself.

Jenny didn't talk about it anymore. She was thinking of coming there often to see him so

that they would have no regrets in the future.

She couldn't help thinking of her own grandfather. Although he wasn't really her biological

grandfather, Jenny still cared for him a lot. She was grateful that when he died, she was by

his side. 1

The plane landed, and they walked out of the airport. They sat in the car that Warren had

prepared forthem.

"Mr. Alec. Miss Jenny.” Warren was in a good mood seeing them both.

When he saw Jenny, he felt conflicted. Back then, he drove Jenny to City Hall to get her

divorce agreement. He used to think she and Alec were not fated to be together. Who

would have thought that their fate was already written in the stars?

Alec didn't know what he was thinking. He asked, "How is my grandfather? Is he alright?"

"He's in a pretty stable condition. He seems to be pretty happy, in fact. It might be

because of you getting together," Warren replied.

"Alright. And what did the doctors say?" Alec asked.

Warren grew somber. "The doctor says that this is the result of him overworking since an

early age. He can only rest. As for how long he has to live...that's an unknown factor."

Old Mr. Faust didn't have any serious illnesses. He was simply old. On top of that, he

worried too much in his earlier years. Right now, the effects of that were showing up on

his body.

"Thank you for your hard work." Alec was grateful to Warren. If it weren't for his care, Alec

would not have gone to Bardoff City with such ease of mind.

Warren smiled. "You're being too polite, Mr. Alec. I've been following him for years now. If

you don't mind me saying it, Mr. Faust is like a brother to me."

He had watched Alec grow over the years as well. He was no longer like a butler to them

but a relative.

Alec said nothing else. Some things had to be kept in his heart.

They headed toward the Old Mansion. After Alec left, Old Mr. Faust sent away many of his

servants, leaving only a few to serve him. It looked desolate now.

"Mr. Faust said there was no point in having so many people around, so he told me to fire a

few of them. These people are enough to keep the house up and running," Warren

explained when he saw Alec frown.

Alec nodded and said nothing. It was his grandfather's decision, after all. He didn't object

to it; he was just worried.

They went into the living room. Old Mr. Faust was sitting in a wheelchair. Because of his

weak condition, it was very hard for him to stand.

"Grandpa," Alec and Jenny both said, walking toward him.

At the sound of their voices, Old Mr. Faust's closed eyes opened. However, his gaze was

not as piercing as before. "You're here, Alec and Jenny.

Come, sit."

They sat on either side of him. "I brought Jenny here to see you, Grandpa."

Deciding to come to Parrington was Jenny's idea. She said they had to tell Old Mr. Faust

they were together. He would be ecstatic. Alec, of course, agreed, and they booked a flight

to Parrington in the morning.

"Good. Very good." Old Mr. Faust nodded and held both of their hands." You have not

disappointed me, Alec."

He truly wished for Alec and Jenny to be with each other. He was even worried that Alec

would lose her. It seemed that he had underestimated his grandson.
