Chapter 1143 You're Not The Person I Like

Jenny nodded in satisfaction at his attitude. "Jade is my family. If you make her suffer, 111

beat you up!"

The Walters could easily defeat the Pearsons. Of course, Jenny didn't want that to happen.

She would prefer to see Jade and Max happily married.

"You're worrying too much." Max smiled. "Why would I be in such a hurry to marry her if I

didn't like her?’ He couldn't wait to marry Jade. He loved her that much and wouldn't let

anyone object.

"How come I've never seen you so deeply in love?" Jenny teased. Perhaps she was still

biased against Max.

After all, Max had given her the impression that he was a player. If he had just been

honest from the start, this wouldn't be a problem now.

"Well, maybe it's because..." Max cocked his head and looked at her," you're not the

person I like."

Jenny was speechless.

"And she doesn't need you to like her," Alec continued, glaring at him.

Back then, if he hadn't known that Max didn't actually like Jenny, he would have punched

him in the face.

"I know, I know.’ Max nodded hurriedly, a smile on his face.

Jade came back quickly. They talked as they ate, and the meal was soon over.

Watching Max and Jade leave, Jenny turned and was about to tell Stephanie that they

would bring her home. However, Stephanie had already hailed a cab. "Thank you for being

such good hosts, Jenny and Mr. Faust. Good night!"

She had been third-wheeling the whole night. She couldn't take it anymore.

Stephanie soon disappeared. Jenny was amused. "I don't even mind. Why does she care so

much?’

She felt that even if she had gotten together with Alec, Stephanie was still her friend. She

didn't think that Stephanie was bothering them at all.

"Do you know how two people can be best friends?" Alec looked at her." They put

themselves in each other's shoes and don't force them to do things that they are

uncomfortable with. That's how their friendship lasts."

"I know what you mean." Jenny sighed. She understood his reasoning. She just didn't think

there was a need to be so polite.

Alec opened the door to the car. "Let's go home."

"Alright." Jenny nodded and got into the passenger seat.

On the way back, Alec suddenly said, ’What Max said is true. When you like someone, you

can't wait to marry them."

"Are you talking about him? Or yourself?" Jenny glanced at him.

Alec smiled. "I'm just like him. I just want to bind the person I love by my side forever."

"That's no use, Mr. Faust. You have to use your charms to get someone to stay,’ Jenny

said, smiling.

Alec laughed. "You're right, Jenny. What, don't you think I'm charming enough to let you

stay?"

"It's enough." It was the perfect amount.

Alec smiled once more. He was in a great mood.

The car quickly reached the villa. Since the night was still young, Alec went to his study to

settle some business affairs. Jenny read a book in the meantime.

At first, she'd wanted to head to her bedroom, but Alec wanted her to stay with him, so

she agreed.

She could hear the tapping sounds from his keyboard. She looked at him, watching his

long, slender fingers typing rhythmically on the keys. He looked handsome under the

warm light.

She trailed her gaze up toward his chiseled face. Paired with his serious expression, he

was an attractive sight.
