| was still with Patrick when Lily mind linked him about going for a walk. It should begoing with her. Patrick told| needed tto cool off, but it wasn’t working, so he tookto the indoor weight room and sparred withuntil my murderous intent toward Lucas was gone, leavingfeeling empty.

| see a wolf coming for Donovan and he reaches out to grab it by its throat but instead, Donovan's teeth sink into his stomach and he shakes his head ferociously to rip it out and put the wolf down. As soon as we do, Donovan collapses and everything goes black.

When | ce to, it takes a moment forto remember what happened and to take in my surroundings. | go to sit up, but a hand comes down on my shoulder. “Don’t.”

The scent of orange and ginger surroundsand the voice that calms my soul speaks. | turn my and see my mate standing next to me, a chair behind her. She was watching over me.

“What happened?” | ask, my voice hoarse.
