However, Candice had underestimated Sonia.

She appeared in her office during the next break with a notebook in her hand.

Her eyes were still red. It was obvious that she had cried,

something like that earlier in the afternoon.”

Candice frowned and looked at Sonia, who was looking at her sincerely. “I won’t do that again. I just

Candice looked at Sonia’s eyes and said, wearing the sface, “Alex didn’t tell me.”

Sonia let out a sigh of relief. She thanked her and left with the notebook.

Candice stood for a moment longer on the balcony.

The balcony was shielded by a piece of glass. Candice looked down at all the cars driving in and out.

There was peace in her eyes.

Daniel and Helen’s preferences… Yes, Alex didn’t tell her.

Alex was busy dealing with all the matters in Aether and his relationship with his family was very bad.

She was the fool, however. Thinking that if she could get his parents to like her, they would help Alex.

When Alex heard her voice, he glanced at her before saying, “Put them here.”

asked, “ How long?”

Alex looked at her with his dark eyes. “I’m very busy right now.”

“I’ll cup later,” Candice said.

Before she could turn around after saying those words, she heard Alex’s voice. “You scolded her?”

Who else could that “her” be?

Candice’s expression didn’t change. “Is telling the truth scolding her?”

There wasn’t much expression in his black eyes as he looked at Candice. “Do you even tell the truth

anymore?”

Candice didn’t look away and simply stared back at him. With a whisper, she said, “You simply didn’t

believe

it.”

Alex said nothing, but it was clear from his expression that he didn’t believe her.

Candice didn’t want to fight with him about something like this. She reminded Alex, “I’ll get Kayla to

cup here and get the files.”
