Chapter 172

Despite Liam's assurances, worry gnawed at Celena. She thought back to his promise to Reginald. Though her anxiety lingered, she forced herself to focus and began organizing the papers scattered across the table.

"I'll go talk to those suppliers right now!"

She was determined to sort out the situation for Liam's sake.

Liam caught the resolve in her eyes and spoke gently, "There's no need. I'll take you hto rest. Forget about the supplier issue. By tomorrow, they'll be lining up at your door ready to sign the contracts."

Celena's eyes widened in shock as Liam's words sank in. "They'll seek us out? How... How could that be? Liam, you're not pulling my leg, are you?"

Liam chuckled at the sight of her, mouth agape and eyes as big as saucers. "When have I ever tricked you? It's the real deal. I've got sold friends in the materials trade. I'll give them a ring once we're back!"

"Is that so? That would be amazing!"

Liam's reassurance washed away Celena's concerns, and she visibly relaxed. However, then her brow furrowed with worry once more. "However, someone trashed the Stone family's factory, and the shappened to all their suppliers! There's even talk that anyone who partners with the Stones is asking for trouble. I'm scared the contacts you find will get hit too."

A sly twinkle passed through Liam's eyes, gone as quickly as it appeared. "Don't fret about it. The suppliers I'll call aren't the kind to be easily messed with. If anyone's bold enough to try, they'll have to deal with me. I'll handle it, so no worries."

With that, Liam and Celena gathered their documents and headed back to the Stone Mansion.

Meanwhile, Cheryl stepped out of the conference room and made her way to the hotel with Wasyl, leaving the drama behind.

Cheryl, fresh from the shower, was wrapped in a white bathrobe that hung loosely from her shoulders. Her hair, still damp, clung to her skin as she padded barefoot across the room. With a graceful stride, she made her way to the sprawling white bed and reclined, her porcelain legs stretching out before her. Wasyl, lying beside her, reached out to pull her close, his hand slipping beneath the folds of her robe.

"Grandpa had to call a last-minute meeting today, all because of the mess with the suppliers," Cheryl said, her voice dripping with scorn. She let out a scoff and added, "You won't believe what Liam had the nerve to say at the meeting."

"Oh? What's that?"

Wasyl, his arms around the freshly bathed Cheryl, was getting a bit carried away, his hand wandering over her chest beneath the robe.

"Liam actually claimed he could get five suppliers to sign on by tomorrow! It's ridiculous. Does he really think he's got that kind of power?"

Cheryl let out another derisive laugh, her eyes glinting with mischief and mockery. She caught Wasyl's roaming hand and asked, "Everything's set on your end, right? No chance of any slip-ups?"

"Relax, it's all under control. Even if Liam manages to scrape up ssuppliers, which I doubt, I'd like to see who's brave enough to actually work with him!"

Wasyl's voice was a low growl, and with a swift move, he rolled on top of Cheryl, his breathing quickening. "Forget about that deadbeat. We've got better things to do."

Before long, the only sounds in the room were their mingled breaths.
