291 How to start explaining.

Kairen had a hard time the next day. A really hard time.

Why was that?

Because of the people living in his house! He had to deal with each one of them one by one! It was so hard he wished he was actually on a battlefield fighting some shitty monsters instead.

“I don’t want tooooo!”

One of the people he had to deal with, and actually the hardest one, was this little kid who had been crying and screaming since morning.

‘What do you mean you don’t want to?’

Kairen walked around the house, trying to ignore the kid’s loud shouts. Why was it so hard to persuade a mere 5-year-old? Kid, you have to go to your kindergarten what the hell is wrong with you?

Kairen moved around the house while talking.

“I told you I am going out as well so you won’t be able to stick to me even if you stay home!”

.....

“Noooo Don’t go to workkkk!”

The kid’s crying only got louder.

‘Argh, damn!’

Kairen sent a side-way glance to Mrs. Neal, asking her to lend him a hand. The woman just shook her head at him and walked away.

‘What?’

Kairen then turned to Reyan.

‘Bro, please!’

Reyan as well only glanced at him and turned around with an annoyed and angry face.

‘Is he still mad?’

Not too long ago, in the break time he took from dealing with Ariyan, Kairen had a fight with his precious friend as well. He only said that he would go visit team leader Dains and the commander, but Reyan got so angry that they started to fight.

Kairen thought his friend would really beat him up this time so he ran away, saying that he had to deal with Ariyan first.

‘Argh, damn!’

There was only one thought in Kairen’s mind right now.

‘I want to run away!’

He wanted to get away from this place. He didn’t care anymore if these people allowed him to go or if that brat wanted to attend his classes or not. He was done! Really done!

So he just did what he desired.

Before anyone had realized what he wanted to do, Kairen, who was still walking around the house, grabbed the door handle, opened it, and ran away.

“Hey!”

He heard Reyan’s shout from behind, but he obviously didn’t stop and kept running. He could see Reyan also leaving the house and running behind him.

Of course, his friend would catch up to him in the blink of an eye. While looking at Reyan who was now about to grab him, Kairen once again marked that he had to exercise and gain a buffed body just like the other.

“Stop!”

“Oww Oww wait that hurts!”

“I won’t fool for that trick again!”

Ah!

Kairen gasped.

‘Did I use it too much?’

In the past few days, whenever he found himself in a difficult situation, he would pretend to be in pain so he would be saved. It wasn’t a lie though he really was in pain most of the time... but it seemed like the same thing wouldn’t work on Reyan again.

At least not today.

“You know I have to go!”

“No, I don’t!”

“Oh!”

Kairen raised an eyebrow.

“Right, I forgot to explain things to you and Serria...”

“...”

Reyan just frowned even more.

“I will tell you everything once we get there, okay? Please!”

Kairen had to bring his brother out of the jail! He had been once again, drowning in the sea of his guilt, thinking how he was resting all day while who knew what was happening to his brother. He had to do something even if all he could do was fall down to his knees and beg everyone he saw.

He also had to talk to Alan regarding the things he had found, the strange things he had seen, and also his theories. There was also the white-haired man, the holy saint, the head of that religion, that Kairen had to know more about.

“Sigh!”

With a sigh, Reyan released his hand.

“I’ll drive you there. Stay here, I’ll bring the car.”

“Yeeahhhh!”

“....”

Kairen shut his mouth after being coldly glared at and stood on his spot waiting for Reyan, like a kid waiting for his mom.

A few minutes later, Reyan was standing in front of him again, this time sitting on the driver’s seat of his expensive car.

“What about that kid?”

Kairen turned towards the door of the house at Reyan’s words, only to see a small head poking out of the door and two big dark gray eyes peeking at him.

“....”

“Sniff.”

“...Sigh!”

Kairen gestured to Ariyan.

“Get in the car.”

“Sniff. N-no-”

“Okay, then I’m leaving bye.”

Kairen jumped inside the car.

“No! Wait!”

Tat Tat Tat

The kid ran to him as fast as he could.

“I’ll come! Take me! Uncle take me too!”

He was clinging to the window on Kairen’s side.

“...Get in the car.”

“YESSS!”

And the kid jumped inside as well. Kairen ignored Reyan’s glare and stared out of the window.

He stared out of the window the whole time until they reached Ariyan’s kindergarten. He had to take the kid to the class personally and then talk to his teacher and the kindergarten director about his recent absences.

Kairen activated his max level skill, babbling nonsense, and mixed lies and facts to create a story to tell to the manager about the reason behind this kid skipping his classes. He couldn’t really tell the man that this kid skipped classes because he has a strange relationship with his uncle, who had disappeared for 11 days after going on a mission and ending up meeting a freaking white-haired bastard who was supposed to have died hundreds of years ago and got nearly killed, so the kid didn’t come to the classes as he felt restless?

He didn’t know what story he created to tell to the manager, he didn’t even know if his words made sound or not, he just babbled on until the manager said that he understood and it was alright for Kairen to leave.

‘Did he kick me out because I talked too much?’

Kairen didn’t know, he didn’t care either. The fact that he managed to run away from the manager’s office was good enough news for him, so he just stood up, thanked the man, and left the office.

“Took you so long.”

Reyan remarked after Kairen sat down in his car again.

“I had to talk to the manager about these past 15 days.”

.....

“So? What did you say?”

Kairen shrugged.

“I dunno I don’t remember them anymore.”

“Fasten your seatbelt.”

“Yes, mom!”

Kairen grabbed the black seat belt and fastened it. The car started to move again, this time, to the headquarters of SMF.

“So?”

Kairen glanced at Reyan who suddenly started to talk after driving in silence for 5 minutes.

“So?”

“Explanation.”

Kairen raised an eyebrow.

“I said I’ll tell you once we arrive-”

“We don’t know what will happen when you go there.”

“Huh?”

Reyan continued to talk without taking his eyes off of the road.

“You were with that man for more than 10 days, and he also saved you by bringing you back to the headquarters. You are suspicious enough to be arrested as soon as you set foot in that building.”

“What? No!”

Such a thing wouldn’t happen!”

“The commander said I was no longer a suspect!”

That man even tested Kairen using his power, law!

“That was for before these things happened. Now things might’ve changed.”

“....”

Well, he wasn’t wrong. Kairen knew that the commander might be once again, suspicious of him. Especially if he talks to Aaron and gets to know that they are brothers.

“Hmm...”

“Also, I need to know what the situation is like if I want to take your side there.”

Kairen’s head snapped towards Reyan.

“You want to take my side? Why?”

Reyan shook his head.

“I didn’t say I will, I said if I want to. It depends on the answer you give to me. You know my family. Even if I have a traitor uncle and an incompetent, weak commander as a father, my family still has power and importance enough for SMF for the commander not to disagree and disrespect the family’s head so easily.”

“...”

Kairen blinked his eyes a few times and nodded his head with a blank face.

‘Right... Reyan is the family head...’

He was the official head, while it was his mom who did most of the work. He was just a head by word, but that didn’t mean he lacked authority.

“You are right...”

Kairen nodded again. He had to explain things to Reyan right now if he wanted his support, although he didn’t want to talk about this issue while riding a car... like... he didn’t want to have a damn flashback in such a casual place... He needed to tell everything even if his friend didn’t believe him.

“Ahem, so...”

Kairen didn’t even know how to start.

“You know, I don’t really belong to this world.”
