187 Can someone tell me what is going on?

A deadly silence filled the area.

‘Uncle?’

Kairen’s jaw dropped.

What was going on here?

Uncle?

Team leader?

Philomns member?

What? Who was that guy?

Kairen looked at Reyan once then looked at The First. The man’s eyes were navy blue and his hair was blonde.

.....

‘Holy shit!’

Reyan took one step towards The First.

“Is that... You...”

He took another step towards him. He seemed to not have noticed the situation yet as he was absentmindedly walking towards The First.

“You are... you were... alive-”

SHAP

A bunch of soil was splashed in Reyan’s face.

“....”

Reyan closed his mouth which was now filled with soil and blinked. Turning to his left side, he could see a hoodied man standing beside Kairen.

Reyan knew him too well. He was the soil attribute user that beat the shit out of Kairen not too long ago.

And he knew that this person was working for Philomns.

Reyan looked between Mr. Hey and The First.

“Huh?”

He still didn’t seem to have understood the situation.

“He is an enemy!”

Kain slightly moved his water whip as he said through gritted teeth.

“Two Philomns members assaulted us while we were exploring the temple.”

SHHHH

With another movement of his wrist, the water whip shot up towards The First.

BANGGG

A whip and a sword clashed.

“Hah!”

The First scoffed.

“I knew you had grown, but you look just like him, Reyan!”

The sword he was holding slowly started to shine. It was being wrapped in a golden, transparent aura.

BANNNGG

With a slight push of his golden sword, the water whip was cut in half. The First then took a big step towards Kain and slashed down with his sword.

B-BOOMM

Although the impact was mostly blocked by Kairen’s shields and Kain’s water barrier, the strong attack still managed to push Kain back.

“Gah!”

Flung back, Kain flipped a few times before stopping somewhere in front of Kairen.

“K-Kain!”

SHAPP

Kairen was about to run to Kain’s side when he was slapped by some soil again. Once he turned towards the soil dude, he saw the man shaking his head from side to side.

“What?”

The soil dude glanced at The First then he looked at Kairen.

The First was slowly approaching Kain while shaking his sword.

“You should’ve just given that thing to me when I asked for it!”

Kain rose his upper body as he sent water blades towards The First.

SLASH

All of the water blades were slashed in half in the split of a second. But as soon as The First turned towards Kain again and raised his sword to the air, he saw a huge sword moving towards his neck.

CLANG

While his sword was blocked by deputy team leader Bray, a gust of wind started to push him back.

Reyan, on the other side, was staring blankly at the scene that was being unfolded.

Only after looking at the scene for a few minutes was that finally his blank face slowly started to turn into that of understanding.

“Uncle, why don’t you answer me?... W-Why are you helping Philomns?”

He asked from his uncle who was busy fighting deputy team leader Bray and Rai’s wind at the same time.

Reyan clenched the hilt of his sword. The sword slowly started to shine, getting wrapped in a golden aura that was less shiny and less transparent than The First’s aura. The two people’s aura was not comparable at all. After all, The First was a swordmaster.

“Hah!”

In his answer, The First only chuckled and added some more transparent aura to his sword. As soon as he did that, the deputy team leader’s sword started to shake.

Again, The First pushed his opponent back by adding some pressure to his hands.

“Tsk!”

Deputy team leader Bray clicked her tongue and raised her sword, slashing down. Using her Time power, the impact of her attack mover in the shape of a sharp blade of wind towards The First.

But the blade of wind was also slashed in half by the swordmaster’s sword.

‘He is really strong...’

Kairen could see that the man was still not using his full power but still none of their attacks worked on him.

But there was something else.

His teammates were also not fighting properly.

Some of them still seemed to be in a daze as they hadn’t even joined the fight and the ones who had were not fighting properly.

He couldn’t just stand there and watch. He had to help the others. Having that thought, Kairen also started to cast a spell.

“Fight me!”

But Kairen was forced to look away from The First and turn back to the soil dude.

“You should fight me!”

The soil dude was whispering in a low voice that only Kairen could hear.

“Yes?”

Kairen tilted his head.

‘I thought he didn’t want to fight?’

And Kairen also didn’t want to fight a cultured man from Earth.

The First was now rushing towards Kain again and Kairen’s spell was complete. He looked away from the soil dude with no regret and instead attacked The First with his spell.

BANGG

The first had to stop and jump back to avoid the beam of light that was shot at him and at the same time moved up his sword to block the golden aura slash that was sent towards him.

“Hey, newcomer...”

.....

He commented while moving his fist in the air.

“If you can’t handle the famous boy...”

His toughly clenched fist got wrapped in the golden aura as it approached someone who was rushing towards him.

“Then deal with these little flies for me!”

And punched Reyan in the stomach.

“AH!”

Reyan gasped and staggered back as he curled his body a little bit due to the pain. Before he could stand straight, a golden sword was already moving towards his neck.

‘I can’t-‘

He couldn’t dodge the attack.

He was not in the position to do it.

Reyan watched the sharp blade that was moving towards his neck. Fear crept into his body as he could see how he was about to get killed so easily by none other than... his uncle.

Then, just before the tip of the blade could reach his neck, Reyan felt that his body was falling down as if his feet slipped and he was now falling.

“Ah?”

At the same time that Reyan fell down to the ground, the blade of the sword passed where his neck was just a second ago and cut some blonde strands of hair.

The First looked down at Reyan with a surprised face as if wondering exactly how he dodged that attack. Reyan too couldn’t understand what just happened and how exactly he was saved.

But Kairen, who was watching the scene unfold while casting his spell, clearly saw what happened.

It wasn’t that Reyan slipped, or dodged the blade by chance.

He fell down because the soil under his feet moved.

It moved ever so slightly, only enough to make Reyan fall down and nothing more.

Kairen had to look back at the soil dude.

‘Did he just save Reyan?’

At the same moment, the soil dude stepped towards The First.

“I’ll take care of the little flies.”

And pointed his spear to unit 5 agents and walked to stand before Reyan.

“....”

‘What is wrong with this man?’

Saving someone one second then going to fight them the next second?

“Move away!”

Reyan stood back up and picked up his sword, but he was only staring at the first and not the opponent before him. Not caring about Reyan’s words Mr. Hey rushed at him.

CLANG

Reyan couldn’t ignore him any longer and had to block his attack with his sword. The two of them started to exchange blows at a speed that was hard for Kairen to follow with his eyes.

With a smile of satisfaction, The First turned back towards Kain. ????????n????e????????. ????om

Bang

Bang

He blocked the bullets shot to him with a thin aura shield and jumped to the side to avoid Carlson’s sword. Then he blocked the deputy team leader’s attack with his sword and lowered his head to dodge a wind blade.

“There are some new faces but the rest of you are all the same!”

He smirked.

“I know your abilities all well and what you are capable of to the fullest.”

The unit members frowned.

He was right.

He knew them well.

He had sparred with them a lot.

He had fought beside them a lot.

He had seen them use their abilities a lot.

Was that why?

Was that why no one could fight him with all their might?

Was that why they couldn’t bring themselves to attack him?

They did their best to fight this man, but in the end, none of them could seriously attack him.

If they did, there was no way that this man could’ve been intact.

He was strong, but not enough to hold his ground against the whole unit.

Fighting against him was not going to be easy. Neither for unit 5 nor for Kain.
