Chapter 145 -DAMON- I have been trying my best not to talk about Dimitri since the day I got Clara back because I knew she was going to advocate for him and I really didn't feel like talking about him because it always dampened my mood.

"Are you going to listen to me, Damon?" She questioned when I didn't say anything and I sighed as I placed her show back on her feet and loosely buckled it up.

"I'll always listen to you Clara but there's nothing you can say that'll makechange my mind about Dimitri. If you want him released then fine but I don't want to see him” I told her and she frowned.

"Do you know how badly he's beating himself up because you haven't forgiven him? Dimitri looks up to you, Damon..." "Then he should have f**g know that I don't joke with you and should have never gotten you involved in the first place. My goddess, he even knew you were pregnant but still he went along with his s**d plan. We lost a child once, Clara. What if we lost this one due to his st**ty? What then?" I explained and couldn't help the way my voice shook due to the various emotions I was feeling.

She couldn't even begin to phantom the feelings I had to pass through when she was taken fromand all because of what? Clara's face immediately softened and she sighed as she grabbed onto my face.

"I understand your feelings and I'll never try to invalidate them. You have a reason to be angry but you have to take it into account that he was just trying to help you" She explained and I scoffed.

"Putting you in danger is not helping me, it's making matters worse. There were other things he could do but yet he chose to put you in danger" I countered and before she could say anything else, I straightened up then slowly lifted her from the chair, sat down and placed her on my lap before wrapping my arms around her waist. I was getting angry due to this topic and only her scent and the feel of her body could calmdown.

"If you're going to be angry at Dimitri then you might as well be angry at me. He toldabout his plan and I decided on my own free will to go with him because I wanted to see my uncle so practically, I'm at fault as well" She reasoned and I frowned.

"You were manipulated and..." "Oh goddess, I wasn't! According to what Dimitri said, you're in trouble, Damon. All the supernatural beings in the world will be coming for you soon including my uncle's army. They are so sure they have a plan to destroy you. This was what Dimitri was trying to help you with. If we were able to capture my uncle then that other supernatural beings will finally know that you're innocent and you're not the one killing their kind. This was all Dimitri's aim, he was doing it for you. To help lift your burden" She explained and I frowned but didn't say anything.

I was well aware of the supernatural killings that had been going on and I knew Dimitri was just trying to help but it still doesn't change the fact that his tactic was risky.

"I can handle them, I don't need anyone's help" I muttered and I heard scoff as she tried pulling away from my hold but I just held her tighter.

"Where are you going?" I questioned.

"I can see you're not ready or willing to see reason so I'm just going to leave" She uttered and tried pulling away but I just pulled her back on my lap.

"Yes mother. Now lettake you hso you can rest. Have you eaten?" I questioned as I slowly stood up with her in my arms, reluctant to let go. I f**ing love the feeling of her being so close.

"No, I'm not hungry. It wasn't long ago you almost stuffedto death with food" She revealed and I frowned.

"We are going to get food on the way and only when you finish it will I go visit Dimitri" I said to her and she pouted.

s I Let's go" I spoke as I made her more comfortable in my arms as I walked out of the room.

After getting food, Clara had immediately fallen asleep and I had nd had made sure she was comfortable and that she was fully guarded before I left the room after placing a kiss on her forehead.

Luca followedto the dungeon but I had him wait outside. I needed to talk to Dimitri, not only because of the issue with Clara but the issue with Aurora as well. We really had a lot to talk about.

I didn't need to be told which cell he was in, I had already caught his scent along with the lingering scent of Clara.

"Damon?" He called out my nbefore I appeared before his cell.

"Hello Dimitri" I uttered as I stood in front of his cell and watched as his eyes widened in shock.

"We need to talk"...
