"Heal." Keng muttered. Silver light enveloped him, breaking him out of his confusion. The heal effect was handy, but left him vulnerable during that time. Keng quickly jumped to his feet and glanced at the monster. It was still recoiling from the surprise attack. Keng lifted up and flew forward. He wasn't going to wait for the unknown monster to kill him.

Keng blasted through the rubble as the cavern shook. The earthquake was still going on and the long limbed monster was now rushing after him. It flickered between different positions like some monster out of your nightmares.

Keng flew through the tunnel, blasting rocks without a care in the world as rocks and dust spilled everywhere around him. Keng's eyes glanced behind him. The long limbed monster was catching up to him.

'Can I get into resonance state while moving?' Keng asked himself. He began to pool the energy around him. Stars and Silver light began to flutter around him. The long limbed monster flickered in a crouched position. It's back began to rise as its jaw dropped. A purple energy fired out of its mouth, arcing straight for Keng. The Bell rang loudly behind him.

'Dammit, I can't.' Keng dodged to the side, being hit by the purple energy and slamming into the wall. The Resonance build up extinguished, burning Keng's body as the water bubbled around him. 'When I try to go into Resonance state, I need to have absolute concentration. This is the problem I have. If I don't protect myself beforehand, I can't build Resonance.'

The creature's limbs extended outwards, flying straight for Keng as he threw up a shield. The shield shattered in an instant, piercing into Keng's abdomen.

"Ah!" Keng groaned as the hand pulled itself out of Keng's abdomen, back to the side of the monster.

'It broke through the shield immediately. It's at least a B-rank.' Keng thought, clutching his wound. 'Heal.' A soft Silver light washed over him as the creature seemed to flicker around. 'Why isn't it coming for the kill? Is it toying with me?' The creature fired another limb out. Keng stopped his healing and pushed himself away. The hand embedded itself into the rock wall, shattering it on impact as the current pushed Keng away.

'It's totally toying with me!' Keng landed pulling his hand away from his wound. 'Healing's out of the question. It won't let me fully heal. It'll try to kill me before I can do it.'

"So," Keng pulled the Hydrosphere daggers out. "We'll just have to deal with it head on." The long limbed creature pulled its arm back, moving straight for Keng. Keng grounded himself, the blades lighting up. "No Resonance blades, but I can still try some things out!" His energy rippled out, creating a small circle of silver stars.

The long limbs flew out as Keng readied himself. As the limb flew over the small circle, Keng immediately tore the limb to pieces as the second arm flew in. Keng dug Hydrosphere into the second arm, gravity and water ripping its arm as the long limb monster let out a guttural screech.

Blood filled the waters as the long limbed monster twitched in pain. It's ripped arms floated around as it reeled in pain. The cavern shook, cracking the ground around Keng and the long limbed monster.

'Crap.' Keng thought. 'I have to go!' He spun around and sprinted for the exit. Large rocks fell around him as the long limbed creature shrieked. It's flickering form zoomed after Keng as Keng picked up speed. He blasted through the large debris only thinking about leaving as the cavern shook violently.

The walls caved in on themselves, spilling onto the already hard path as Keng continued to blast his way through. The long limbed creature whipped its ripped limb straight for Keng. The ripped limb wrapped around Keng, pulling him backwards. The creature opened its jaw, ready to bite his head off.

Keng's tails flew straight at the monster, pushing against it as Keng came to an abrupt stop inches away from the unhinged jaw of the monster.

"GRAAA!" The monster shrieked as blood spilled out of its wounds.

"You should've just ran away when you had the chance!" Keng shouted. His cosmic tails started to hum as energy swirled out of tails. A cannon of stars and light exploded out of his tail, tearing a large hole in the monster. It's grip loosened on Keng, shrieking as Keng immediately pulled away. He blasted away as everything fell all around him. His tails made quick work of any rubble coming at him, shattering them into small pieces. He flew upwards, seeing the exit as the walls began to cave in on itself.

'Come on! I can make it!' Keng flashed forward, slashing blocked entrance and bursting outwards as the rush of the collapsing cave pushed him outwards. Keng bounced along the ground as tears and cave-ins happened all around him. His daggers scattered out of his hand as he flew straight for the newly formed sink hole.

"Ahhh!" Keng shouted as he threw a gravity bubble out. A dagger flew into the darkness as Keng gathered himself. "Hydrosphere!" The daggers re-summoned themselves back into his hands. He watched as the ground around him began to fall. "Just how bad is this earthquake?"

"Fox Spirit! Fox Spirit! Where are you?!?" A voice called out. Keng looked over at the Coral Forest. A female Merfolk swam out of the forest with a couple other Merfolk on her tail. It was Keng's teammates. He had gotten separated from them trying to evade the Ferals. The woman was named Rya. She was an experienced warrior who had traversed much of the lands around the village. She and the team swam straight for Keng as his cosmic bubble popped.

"Fox Spirit! Are you okay?!?" Rya asked. Keng glanced at them and noticed they were just as worst as him.

"I'm fine. What's happening?" Keng asked.

"An earthquake!" Vizo, a hunky Merfolk with dark skin answered. He held his prized obsession, his crystal green trident, in his hand as he came to Keng's side.

"We haven't had one this bad! What if the village is destroyed?" Aliza, a small Merfolk woman asked.

"We must head back!" Rya replied. She looked at Keng and noticed the stab wound on his abdomen. Blood was still spilling. "You are hurt, Fox Spirit. What happened?" The currents pushed them around, forcing Keng and the others to try to stay in place. Keng moved his hand around and a bubble formed, holding them steady.

"Just in case." Keng told them. He let out a sigh as the bubble fluttered around. "I'll be fine." He glanced at his wound. His natural healing wasn't working.

"Let me heal us." Cayi moved forward. He was one of the younger Merfolk in Rya's group, but he was a skilled healer. Keng wanted to talk to him about his healing capabilities, but never had the time to. "We're all injured. We won't make it back to the village if we're in this shape."

"Cayi's right." Rya nodded. Cayi nodded and lifted his hands up. Cayi started to mutter something in Merfolk tongue. Keng couldn't quite understand all of it, but got bits and pieces out of it. He was chanting a healing spell. The waters around them began to glow a light blue as it lit up. The feeling of warmth grew in Keng's body. He glanced at his wound and watched it start to close.

'Cayi's good.' Keng thought. 'Leader Zax did give me capable people. I shouldn't try to abandon them in a fight even if I am cornered by Ferals.' When Cayi finished, Keng focused on navigating his teammates back with Aliza, the Scout's, help. The Coral Forest was in a disastrous fit as they flew above it.

"This isn't good. "Vizo commented. "The workers are going to have a hard time gathering Coral with all the sink holes around."

"Leader Rya," Cayi looked at the warrior Merfolk. She was dressed in golden armor and had her trident strapped to her back. She looked at Cayi as he spoke. "Aren't there people working in the forest today? Wh-what if something happened to them? Who will save them?"

"Be calm, Cayi." Rya spoke. "Our people are capable of surviving an earthquake this large. They are trained for things like this. Just like you were trained." Cayi was the youngest amongst the group. Leader Zax and Squadron Leader Rya had given high praises for the young man. He was timid and hugged his crystal green staff. Rya put a hand on him and reassured him all will be fine as Keng listened to Aliza's instructions.

"Over there." Aliza pointed. "Do you see it, Fox Spirit?"

"The large tower?" Keng asked.

"Yes, that is home." Aliza nodded.

"Why hasn't it fallen?"

"The village is enchanted with strong barriers." Vizo explained. "To protect ourselves from natural disasters from happening."

"Pull in at the tower. We'll go to the Leader for instructions."
